Operation "Share The Warmth"

Operation "Share The Warmth"

We are gearing up for our 5th Annual "Share the Warmth" campaign here at Yellow Stitch Boutique.  It truly is one of our favorite missions that we do.  Each year, we work very hard in September and October to not only provide all of you with warm winter gear, but we also work hard to provide schools (statewide) with an abundance of warm weather gear that teachers can provide to students that come to school without.
Starting in just a few days, we will have a variety of warm hats, mittens, gloves and scarves on our website.  We have used C.C. Brand because they are our Best Selling hats and gloves.
Each item has 2 options....(read carefully here peeps).
1.  We give you the option to purchase one for your own personal use.  Yay!  We will ship it to you as soon as we get it in!  Then, Yellow Stitch Boutique will forfeit our profit from that sale by purchasing a duplicate of the item you bought for yourself and we will donate that item to a school here in North Dakota!
2.  You will notice that there is a more economical choice and that item will be labeled as a (Direct Donation).  What that means is we are giving you our wholesale price of that item and you are purchasing that item for us to give to a school!  Thank you so much for that donation......we appreciate your willingness to help children feel more loved and safe at school!!!!!
Let me tell you a little bit about this mission.
When one of my daughters was in Kindergarten it was an extraordinarily harsh winter here in North Dakota and her teacher was running into the hardship of children coming to school in below zero temperatures without warm winter gear.
She sent out an email to all of us parents begging us to remember that our child needs to bring these items because they are required to send the children outside even it it is a bit chilly.  (Kids really do need the fresh air)  The kids without proper winter gear were coming in with bright red hands and freezing cold feet and it would take them a long time to warm up after recess.
After I got the email, I asked my daughter what some of her classmates might need and she told me mostly gloves and maybe some hats.  I remember very distinctly that my mom was with us too and she said "Ok, let's go to WalMart and buy some that she can just let kids wear when they forget"
Operation "Share the Warmth" was inspired by my mother and her willingness to give to others that she doesn't know.  I was also inspired by her support of schools.  She ALWAYS was involved in my activities as a child and our community rallied (and still rallies) around our small town school.  If a teacher asks, they receive because it's a community that truly values what our teachers do.
Last year, we donated over 1,500 hats and gloves to schools in the state of North Dakota and each year this mission continues to grow.
If you are a teacher, grandparent, parent, school administrator or even a concerned community member that believes that your school could benefit from receiving some of these hats and gloves, please nominate your school to be a recipient of our "Share the Warmth" campaign.  You can fill out this short form and we will contact you with more details:
