Operation Christmas Magic
Christmas Magic is real and it IS still alive in so many hearts! With our November/December mission, we are hoping to bring out that magic in as many people as we possibly can!
Since my girls were babies, I can remember the tradition of picking a tag off an angel tree, usually the same age as my children, and going shopping for each of the items on their list. As a family who was always able to fulfill the wishlists of our own children, we always wanted to try to provide these angel children with as many items from their lists as possible to give them a Magical Holiday season.
It was and always will be one of my favorite parts of the holiday season and I hope that it is a tradition that my children will continue with their own children someday.
In the last few years there was just something that shifted with these angel tags that my girls noticed. Most of the wishlist items had become gift cards and while we know that is still helping a family in need, some of the "Magic" seemed to be missing.
We want to use this mission to restore some of that Magic! We work with school counselors, teachers and social workers in our community to come up with very detailed "Wish Lists" for students in need. The items on these lists are items that they are truly WISHING for.
Each child has the opportunity to share 4 things they are really WANTING for Christmas with their trusted teacher/school staff member. We give our customers the opportunity to sponsor some of these children/items by sharing a list in our VIP Shopper's Page (you can find us on Facebook). Those customers who sponsor a child or item will be given a one-time use discount code worth 50% off an order on our website. Yellow Stitch Boutique also uses 10% of every order to purchase items off of these wish lists.
Last year, we were able to fully sponsor 54 children and their entire Wish Lists. And this year, we are hoping to increase that with all of your support and generosity.
