Our Mission for the Month of September

Since the launch of Yellow Stitch Boutique, we have been able to help many community organizations, schools and individuals.  We take one month to focus on a certain demographic of people and a percentage of our sales are used to help our monthly mission.
September is a month that is very meaningful to Yellow Stitch Boutique because the woman who we chose to name the boutique after passed away a year ago in this month.  Lynnette worked as a nursing home administrator for her career and she LOVED each and every resident she came in contact with.  She often told us stories about how she would take the business hours to sit in their rooms and visit with them and then end up working very late into the night because she had to catch up on the business part of the nursing home.  Lynnette would also share with us how sad it was that so many people entered nursing homes and they would never have family or friends visit them.
We wanted to take the month of September to honor the gift she gave her residents.  She showered them with attention and care!
Covid-19 has hit the nursing home population hard and the number of visitors are so limited.  These residents aren't even able to see their families!  So, for the month of September, with each order placed, we are sending blank cards with stamped envelopes to each of our customers to enable them to send a note to someone they know and love who might be in a nursing home.  We are also donating 10% of every order to purchase gift cards from local floral shops and we will give these gift cards to local nursing home staff so that when a birthday of one of those residents who seldom gets visitors comes along, Yellow Stitch Boutique will be able to gift them some yellow flowers for their birthday!  We want them to know they are in our thoughts and prayers and that they are wrapped in God's love!
Thank you for choosing us to shop and for helping us carry out this mission!
